Josh Roelink is highly regarded internationally as one of Australia’s foremost Tattoo Artists and Designers. Having trained initially as a Graphic Designer at UTS in Sydney in 1991, he left a rather successful illustration career behind and embarked on a thus-far twenty year venture into tattooing. His personal art takes Ukiyo-e and Sumi-e imagery of the past and repositions it in a modern context, with a dialogue between the past and present and the continuing shift between Eastern and Western Philosophy. Having studied Buddhism and Taoism for the last twenty five years, his art is a result of his long-term infatuation with all Asian Art and its history and cultures; his own meditations on the nature of reality and the structure of thought process and resulting world-views.
